Joel Robinson becomes Founder of hospitality tech platform Openr

Hunter-Miller are delighted to announce that Joel Robinson has taken the next step in his career as Founder of Openr, a new technology business developed within the Azzurri Group.

We originally placed Joel as Digital & Technology Director at Azzurri in 2019, joining from Sainsbury’s. Since then, he has played a leading role in the group’s digital transformation, including the development of Openr, a technology platform designed to enhance and streamline multi-site hospitality operations.

Openr brings together product, menu, pricing and digital asset data, allowing changes to be managed centrally and distributed across the many different systems and channels used by hospitality operators.

For Azzurri, this is a great example of the capability and innovation that can come from investing in digital and technology. For Joel, it represents an exciting opportunity to take something he helped create from within the business and build it into a technology company in its own right.

We’re particularly pleased to have played a small part in Joel’s journey and look forward to seeing what he and the Openr team do next.
